Preferred Remodeling & Construction Co. is an independent general contracting firm based in Smithtown, New York that has served Long Island homeowners for more than 23 years. The projects below are a representative sample of the interior and exterior work we complete every year — full kitchen and bathroom renovations, finished basements, custom cabinetry, home additions, exterior siding, decks, patios, framing, and the trim and finish carpentry that ties a project together. Every job you see here was designed, built, and installed by our own in-house crew of seven carpenters. Nothing was subcontracted.

Remodeling
Remodeling is the bulk of what we do. These projects include full kitchen renovations with custom cabinetry and tile, bathroom rebuilds taken back to the studs, and basements finished into usable living space with framing, insulation, lighting and trim. Most are whole-room or whole-floor jobs in homes around Smithtown, Commack, Huntington and the surrounding Suffolk County towns, and each one was built by our own carpenters rather than a rotating cast of subcontractors.
Construction
The construction projects below involve new structure rather than finishes: framing for home additions, decks and covered porches, patios, siding, and full residential builds. Work at this scale carries permits and inspections, and we handle that paperwork as part of the job so the homeowner is not chasing the town. We build throughout Suffolk County, from the Smithtown and Huntington corridor south to Babylon, West Islip, Deer Park and the Islip towns.

Alongside the large projects we take on the finish carpentry that many contractors leave out: custom cabinets and built-ins, interior and exterior doors, replacement windows, trim and moulding, tile and wood flooring, drywall repair and painting.
