Southold is a region of negligent seaside charm and ancient architecture—both antique cottages and waterfront cabins. In Preferred Remodeling & Construction Co. , we have incorporated modern design in blending craftsmanship to create bathrooms that will suit the North Fork lifestyle in Southold.
We have more than 23 years of experience and a team of seven people, and our specialization is the remodeling of bathrooms to make them more comfortable, valued, and stylish.
Whether you require a quick upgrade or a comprehensive makeover, our professional bathroom remodeling services ensure long-lasting results.
Bathroom remodeling contractors know the details of such challenges, be it the old-fashioned farmhouse designs or the newer beach houses that require ample ventilation and waterproof finishes.
Most Southold homes constructed decades ago suffer from cramped layouts, outdated fittings, or some degree of damage from humidity, which is prevalent in coastal conditions.
Our spaces are set up to reflect the nature of your home and to introduce its modernity, such as long-lasting materials, better air circulation, and a classic style that reminds us of the beauty of Southold Beach.
We prefer craftsmanship, communication, and on-time work that does not harm your property or your peace of mind because we are local remodelers.
Complete overhauls will include demo, re-framing, or minor structural changes; moving or replacing plumbing; new electrical; waterproofing; tile; fixtures; and trim. Southold homes may encounter venting and moisture issues due to coastal humidity.
Transform your primary bath into a soothing and useful escape: walk-in showers with bench seating, dual vanities, separate water closets, freestanding tubs, and heated floors are familiar upgrades.
Constraints in available space need not mean compromise. We lay out a space-efficient plan using floating vanities, pocket doors, shallow-depth storage, and intelligent lighting to help small bathrooms feel larger and more functional.

The time frame to carry out a mid-range bathroom renovation is normally 3-6 weeks between demolition and final work. Whole full-size remodels that include layout alterations, structural constructions, or tailor-crafted cabinets are potentially somewhat lengthier to complete—expect to take 6-10 weeks. Allowances of timelines and material lead times (particularly of coastal-grade finishes) affect the schedule as well.
Yes, in the event that plumbing moves, electrical upgrades or structural changes are involved right through the work, the Town and Village offices normally require permits. Local contractor normally takes care of permit applications and inspections in your place.
The costs differ considerably with range and finishes. A small renovation (new fixtures, paint, vanity) may begin in the middle five-figure range; an extensive gut-and-replace with high-end materials may be more than that.
Since the value of Southold homes is usually six hundred thousand or beyond, most homeowners choose mid-to-high-end finishes to match the neighborhood requirement.
Yes—the majority of the homeowners stay in the home. Arrange a makeshift morning routine (cleaning up in a small temporary vanity and/or another bathroom) as a convenience in the busiest construction.
The most rapid and quantifiable savings is done by low-flow toilets and showerheads, efficient faucets, and LED lighting. Add to it good ventilation and low-maintenance surfaces to reduce the cost in the long term.
